Arsenal vs Manchester United Live Streaming English Premiership 1/5/2011

Watch the Arsenal vs Manchester United live stream in the English Premiership on 1/5/2011 with another footballing lesson likely to be handed out at the Emirates on Sunday except it will not be from the Gunners. Arsene Wenger’s side has been at the mercy of their Old Trafford nemesis in recent years and in this live online stream commentary and live online radio broadcast English Premiership match between Arsenal and Man United the same outcome is likely to occur once again with the Gunners’ confidence totally shot and Wenger having no clue as to how to bring the club forward. Once again the north London giants were on course for a possible four trophy haul this season, but yet again their ambitions have been found wanting and the age-old accusation of an Arsenal side lacking mental grit and resilience has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. While Wenger continues to defend his team passionately by insisting there has been progress, the fact that he continues to call them a young side as an excuse no longer carries any weight in all sections – even with Arsenal fans. Theirs is an experienced team with established internationals in every position. It is simply clear that the current Gunners team has no real leader and no mental resolve to knuckle down and make that necessary step to become winners. The most gnawing example was in the Carling Cup final in which they lost via a last minute goal to a clearly inferior Birmingham side. The next piece of evidence was when they succumbed to a Manchester United side with seven defenders in the FA Cup – a clear ploy by Ferguson who knows how to beat the Gunners and has shown how easy it is time and again. It is to play a more physical game and then grind them away with the Arsenal players spending more time complaining than fighting for the win.

Arsenal must shore up their defence with more physical players and one must not forget the former Invincibles were not necessarily made up of the silky touch and pass defenders but instead legendary stalwarts and hardmen like Tony Adams, Sol Campbell, Martin Keown and more. That has also shown that Wenger is not as good a manager as he has been made out to be – his early Arsenal success was built on the foundations laid by the predecessors at the club and since then his attempts to find an equally good backline has failed miserably every season. While they may cope against the smaller sides, their defence has always crumbled against the big teams. Last season Gael Clichy was clearly incompetent against United and Chelsea’s marauding wingers, while this season Laurent Koscielney continues to establish his one-man clown show in the heart of defence. Wenger has of course suffered without the services of the injured Thomas Vermalaen but his insistence on not signing up capable replacements while going for ‘potential’ has led to the team being exposed in the most crucial of times. Upfront, Robin van Persie is undoubtedly a class act but the Dutchman spends more time on the treatment table, while his strike partners have come and gone and shown a lack of enduring quality. In midfield, captain Cesc Fabregas no longer plays with his heart in the club and should clearly be let go, with Samir Nasri the only player to have acquitted himself sufficiently well this season but has also faded in recent months. This all points to another commanding display from Man Utd at the Emirates Stadium with Ferguson laughing his way to the club’s 19th league title as they crush Arsenal in their way.

Three points should be in the bag for Manchester United in this live English Premier League online streaming football match given their recent record against Arsenal. It is the formula with which Ferguson has already hit upon in knowing how to beat the Gunners that has established this superiority. The Old Trafford side knows exactly how to overcome whatever Arsenal has to throw at them and has the resources to do it comfortably. Simply play their physically power individuals, rough up the Gunners and strike them on the counterattack. It has worked time and again with recent examples in the FA Cup as well as earlier in the season at Old Trafford when Arsenal lost 1-0 to Man Utd with Park Ji Sung scoring the winner. Ferguson acknowledges that it will never be pretty football as his side trumps the Gunners but the three points are all that matters and that separates the winners from the wannabes. South Korean Park is likely to make the start again as he typifies the kind of player Ferguson delights in putting out against Arsene Wenger’s men – hardworking, full of running and always capable of disrupting the opponents’ flow before hitting them with a sucker punch. Nani will also take part with Antonio Valencia on the opposite flank as both use their pace to pose questions to Arsenal’s questionable defence. The duo of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic are also more than capable of stopping the deadly but lightweight Robin van Persie. In midfield, expect the old guards of Paul Scholes or Ryan Giggs to run the show while Anderson, Darren Fletcher or John O’Shea will have the number of their counterparts.

Prediction: Arsenal are always a delight to watch in terms of football aesthetics – beautiful passing movements and scorers of incredible goals with nice buildup play. However, they are a poor man’s version of Barcelona and against the big sides their results show. Against Manchester United they have no chance despite all attempts by Wenger to talk his side up. Ferguson has all the answers and perhaps behind the scenes, treats the Gunners as a funny sideshow every season. Arsenal to lose 2-1 to Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium as the threat of finishing fourth in the league looms.

Manchester City vs West Ham Live Streaming English Premiership 1/5/2011

Watch the Manchester City vs West Ham live stream in the English Premiership on 1/5/2011 with three points certainly in the bag for the Citizens even before the the match kicks off on Sunday. While the Eastlands giants will not be taking their opponents lightly in this live online stream commentary and live online radio broadcast English Premiership match between Man City and West Ham United it is generally recognised that the Hammers are rudderless without captain Scott Parker. The England international and Football Writers’ Player of the Year is unlikely to be part of his team due to injury and that will haunt the club for the rest of the season as they enter the final stretch of another terrible season. Roberto Mancini will not be in the least bit bothered by the opposition’s feelings and will be urging his City players to go all out for the three points and an impressive display. The Italian knows that it will be important to establish a strong momentum in the run in as the oil-rich club hopes to finish in the top four of the Premier League to qualify for next season’s Champions League, while lifting their first silverware in decades with the FA Cup final later this month. Manchester City narrowly beat Blackburn 1-0 last Monday in a sign of nerves and inexperience when it comes to this scenario but they can only get better and will start showing more authority once they win major honours as a team. That is what Mancini is hoping to achieve here while retaining his job surrounded by difficult circumstances and players.

Mancini will at least be pleased that January signing Edin Dzeko has finally opened his Premier League account for the club. The Bosnian international – signed from Wolfsburg during the winter transfer window – has taken a long time to settle and is not yet out of the woods. However, finally scoring his first legitimate goal – his earlier four goals had come against lower league opposition in cup as well as in the Europa League – will do his confidence plenty of good. With City talisman and captain Carlos Tevez out with injury, Mancini will need his other forwards like Dzeko and Mario Balotelli to pick up the slack. The latter is a brilliant player but too temperamental and inconsistent, thus Mancini will be expecting more from Dzeko – a more traditional centre-forward with the physical attributes and movement to promise more. There could also be a return to the side by midfielder James Milner, who has been found out to be wanting in terms of top quality by Mancini. While the hardworking player can be counted on for commitment and energy, Milner is extremely limited in terms of the special skills needed to change a game. City already has plenty of players like him in the form of Yaya Toure and Vincent Kompany but they provide several more qualities compared to Milner. However, Mancini can still use Milner in such situations against a lesser team like West Ham while resting his more important stars.

West Ham are definitely ending on the losing end in this live English Premier League online streaming football match with Man City too strong for them. The latter might splutter and flatter to impress for awhile during the game as they try to inspire themselves against weak opponents. However, the Hammers know they do not have the quality to stay in the top flight. Hammers boss Avram Grant is still not waving the white flag in terms of the club’s relegation fight but the end is surely nigh now for the London team. Parker will not be playing with a hurt Achilles while Mark Noble and Gary O’Neil are also sidelined with long term injuries. The whole of their first line midfield is out and that only spells trouble for the Hammers. Even the return of defender Matthew Upson is unlikely to help stop the rot considering his other teammates in defence are often found wanting as was evident when the Hammers were crushed by Chelsea just a week ago in a 3-0 defeat. However, due to the incompetence of relegation rivals like Wolves, Wigan and Blackpool, West Ham remain in with a shout of avoiding the drop but the rescue act must begin now with at least a point away at the City of Manchester Stadium.

Prediction: Manchester City should coast to a comfortable win over West Ham. The only thing that should stop them is their own appetite for the game as many of their stars have often let their guard down this season. Spanish star David Silva will again be their main key to unlocking the Hammers defence which should not be too difficult. Dzeko – if he starts – will be hoping to build on last week’s goal with at least another today. Expect Mancini to rest a couple of his first teamers as he looks to avoid more injuries ahead of the FA Cup final. Manchester City to beat West Ham 2-0 at the very least today.

Liverpool vs Newcastle United Live Streaming English Premiership 1/5/2011

Watch the Liverpool vs Newcastle United live stream in the English Premiership on 1/5/2011 as King Kenny hopes to lead the Reds to another inspiring win on Sunday over the visiting Magpies. Since Dalglish took over earlier this year the Kop has enjoyed numerous positives and in this live online stream commentary and live online radio broadcast English Premiership match between Liverpool and Newcastle United the expectations are high again of another win with Anfield becoming a fortress once again. The veil of invincibility previously cast over Anfield contributed in a huge way to their dominance in previous decades but recent lack of the same effect led to dark days for the Merseyside giants. That eventually chipped away at their throne of being the most successful club in English football – a record they will surely lose at the end of this season when Manchester United overtakes them with their 19th league championship. Dalglish will be urging his side to look ahead and start by crushinig Newcastle in a bid to establish the same feeling of superiority that so often carried previous Liverpool sides. The winning mentality must be rebuilt – witness how it has shaped Manchester United and Ferguson’s dominance in the last two decades. The desire and commitment to the team’s and club’s causes must be present in every player and throughout the club for such success to follow. Dalglish has the charisma and knowledge to inject it back into Anfield and fans are certainly hoping he is given every chance to do so. Buying the right players will also be crucial and having snapped up Luis Suarez, Liverpool are hoping British record transfer Andy Carroll – signed from the Magpies in January – will be one of the many new players who can be the cornerstone of future Liverpool glories.

Carroll will certainly grab the headlines prior to this clash against his former club and there is still plenty of ill-feeling between player and Newcastle management. Magpies fans are still divided over a former fan favourite – and one of their own with Carroll being Newcastle born and bred – leaving St James’ Park for greener pastures. The England international has made it clear that it was never his wish to leave the Geordies but he has put that in his past and wishes to establish himself with his new club. Under Dalglish, Carroll has the resources to become an even better player – recall how former Newcastle, Blackburn and England great Alan Shearer revealed how he became one of the world’s deadliest strikers after being coached by Dalglish – and his potential promises a bright future ahead especially after scoring his first two Premiership goals for Liverpool against Manchester City. Key to Liverpool’s progress will be how Suarez and Carroll link up on the pitch. There have been signs of their potential but it will take some time yet and perhaps Anfield fans can expect more next season. The reputation and expectations at Liverpool mean that players are rarely given the luxury of time to bed in but with Dalglish leading the line, concessions will be given. In Raul Meireles, the Anfield Reds also have a quality intelligent midfielder while the young local players have shown in recent games that they should not be discounted from playing a part in the club’s future. Most importantly, Liverpool’s new owners the Fenway Sports Group has so far shown some evidence that they are truly focused on building the club back into a dominant force.

Newcastle United are simply playing out the rest of their season in this live English Premier League online streaming football match and may succumb to the passion and powerplay of the Liverpool side and their fans, who are still trying to finish in the top five this season. There is no doubt the likes of Joey Barton will be playing his heart out as he usually does, but the majority of the players are unlikely to be motivated enough by Alan Pardew to push on. Having already achieved the minimum of 40 points generally recognised as essential for avoiding relegation, the Magpies have nothing left but pride to play for. Some players may also be playing to put themselves in the shop windows, like Spanish defender Jose Enrique who is rumoured to be on his way to Liverpool in the summer. Barton is another player who has some admirers – again the Merseysiders are apparently interested – but could be outshone in the middle of the park today by the likes of Jay Spearing and Lucas Leiva. Newcastle’s defence will also be tested by the steady wing support from Liverpool’s John Flanagan and Jack Robinson, who could both again be given starts as Liverpool copes with a defensive crisis. Pardew will be aware that Liverpool are now becoming more of a team and not overly reliant on one or two players and that could spell disaster for his side with little motivation to up their game on the day.

Prediction: Of all of Dalglish’s best achievements in his second spell as Liverpool manager, it is the building of a real team ethos that should be highlighted. While they still have some top players in the form of Suarez and Meireles, there is less reliance on just one player – for example, the team has not missed captain Steven Gerrard nor former star striker Fernando Torres – while the other players have seized the initiative to do their part. This will overwhelm Newcastle United on the day as the likes of Dirk Kuyt, Meireles, Suarez, and even Jay Spearing are all determined to take responsibility, rather than look for Gerrard most of the time. Whether Carroll plays or not will be inconsequential and the Reds should maintain their dominance at home this year. Liverpool to beat Newcastle United 3-1 at Anfield.
